Game Rules

Below you find the game rules for the 60th Christmas Volleyball Tournament 2009. (It is still possible that some changes will be made in these rules.)

1. At the Christmas Volleyball Tournament all matches will be played according to the official NeVoBo rules.

2. Every team has the right to bring 1 dispensation player, unless otherwise agreed with the secretary. If a team wishes to use this possibility, this has to be requested prior to the registration. This can be done by telephone (+31 592 315465) or by e-mail: info@christmasvolleyballtournament.com

3. Every team has to be in the sports hall at least 30 minutes prior the start of every match. When a team is over 10 minutes late, the match will be considered lost. Important: When one match is finished, the next match will be played immediately afterwards. The times in the schedule will function as a guideline. If necessary, the organisation can reschedule a match to a different time or a different court in the same sports hall.

4. Every team has to be dressed in uniform. In the categories Male Higher I and Female Higher I it is also required that the uniforms are provided with player’s numbers on back and chest.

6. Places in the second round (“kruisfinales”) are determined by the number of game points scored in the first round (poulematches). In case two or more teams have equal scores the decision will be made by:
- The result of the match with your direct opponent;
- The ratio of the sets won and lost in all qualifying matches;
- The ratio of the points won and lost in all qualifying matches;
If these are all the same, a toss-up will decide.

7. In all qualifying matches 2 sets will be played until 25 points, with a difference of 2 points.
- Starting from the second round (“kruisfinales”), the matches will be played according to the ´best of three system´ until 25 points. If a third set is necessary, this set will be played until 15 points, with a difference of 2 points.
- The finals in the categories Middle and Higher II will be played according to the ´best of three system´ until 25 points. If a third set is necessary, this set will be played until 15 points, with a difference of 2 points.
- The finals in the categories Higher I will be played according to the best of five system until 25 points with a difference of 2 points. If a fifth set is necessary, this set will be played until 15 points with a difference of 2 points.

8. When a player is shown a red/ yellow card by the referee as a penalty, this player is excluded from the played match. Also, this player is excluded from the next match of the team.

9. When a coach is shown a red/yellow card by the referee as a penalty, this coach is excluded from the played match. The coach has to remove to minimal 25 meter of the field of play.
